Hawkes Family Christmas Eve - 2008

The Hawkes Family traditional Christmas Eve continues...with "Boa Kitty"

The Hawkes family has carried on our parents’ tradition for Christmas. We all get together on Christmas Eve for a family dinner. It was always at our parents home, even after mom passed, Dad still hosted it. Since Dad passed, we kids have rotated it between our homes. We have also added one other event for the evening….a white elephant gift exchange. The first year, Rob’s white elephant was the best and it has been regifted every year since, so we now have another tradition….the boa cat! We all wait all year long to see who will get the boa cat. It has been uniquely wrapped each year. This year, Rob and Nan also added a competitive game of name that tune and artist for various Christmas songs, old and new. The competition was fierce and close, but most of all, everyone enjoyed it and it brought our parents love of music to the party. Here is a link to the photos from our 2008 traditional Hawkes Family Christmas Eve gathering. Everyone was there except Jake, Jennifer and Abigail as they were celebrating Christmas in Utah with her family. These are mainly photos from the traditional White Elephant event.....Dorinne was the lucky one this year, although a second smaller boa feathered kitty was introduced this year. Bet we now have to watch for two regifts next year. As you can see, we all had a great time. The food was awesome, the company great and the white elephants just keep getting better.
